At FORT Education Africa, we encounter the sad state of daily risks and struggles children undergo to reach their places of learning.
At Nasarine Junior School, hundreds of children must travel long distances on foot along risky roads or ride dangerously overloaded motorcycle taxis, sometimes with as many as 5 to 6 children on a single bike, as shown in the picture above, without helmets or proper protection. These journeys are not just uncomfortable, they’re hazardous to their health, safety, and well-being. Often, the children arrive tired, late, or stressed, and struggle to fully benefit from their education.
We are raising US$150,000 to purchase modest but safe school buses that will:
• Provide daily transport to and from school for the most vulnerable students.
• Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of the young learners.
• Support the school’s participation in academic trips, extracurricular activities, and events in the wider community.
• Lighten the burden on families who currently have no safer alternative.
Fundraising Goal: US$150,000
This is more than just transport, it’s a lifeline! Help us ensure that the joy and opportunity of children to access education through the FORT Education Africa initiative does not come with fear, danger, or exhaustion.
Thank you for making access to education safe and reliable.
