Nasarine Junior School (NJS) was established by an Adventist couple to bring quality Christian Education within reach of needy children in their rural vicinity in Kenya. The school recruited its first cohort of eight children in February 2014 and has seen the enrolment grow to almost 300 (K-8) over the past 10 years.
School Vision: Educating for Eternity.
School Mission: Prepare learners for usefulness in this world and in the world to come, through wholesome education.
The inspiring story of the school commenced in 2014 when, motivated by their own experience growing up in poverty, and faced with a large number of needy children in the communinty, the founding couple secured a bank loan and signed a 10-year lease on an old village property that was renovated to become the Nasarine Junior School, where, in addition to quality Christian Education, all children also receive two meals a day.
This is a critical intervention for the children, majority of whom come from underprivileged families, and aligns with the vision, mission and core values of FORT Education Africa. With a current enrolment of 300 children, the meagre resources at the leased property are stretched beyond limits and has prompted a multi-phased building project that has become one of our inaugural School Infrastructure Development (SID) projects.
The Forum for True (FORT) Education Africa envisions a FORTIFIED generation through education and was founded to collaborate with like-minded institutions such as Nasarene Junior School to bring true Christian education within reach of destitute children and youths of all ages.
The organization endeavors to support the solemn mission of the school, providing true education to more needy children. This is being pursued through sponsorship and scholarship programs, infrastructure/resource development and the facilitation of Christ-centered missionary work at the school and neighbouring communities.
We are currently fundraising for a multi-phase building project at the school. The organization intends to build few classrooms and a cafeteria at an estimated cost of US$ 200 000. Your donation will be of great help. Thank you.
